The Challenge
After his amputation, Mr. Prakash was provided with a conventional prosthetic socket. However, the fit was poor, the leg was heavy, and it caused blisters and significant discomfort. He struggled to walk confidently and limited his social interaction due to these ongoing issues. The cosmetic appearance of the device also felt outdated and added to his dissatisfaction.

Addiwise Digital Intervention

• Scan : A precise 3D scan of the residual limb was captured using AddiScan, eliminating the need for traditional plaster casting.
• Design :Using AddiNxT, a customized BK socket was digitally designed with anatomical reliefs, pressure zone optimization, and a refined trimline. A digital mold was also created to design a custom Pedalite liner, enhancing comfort and fit.
• Print :The final design was manufactured using AddiPrint with HP MJF technology, in medical-grade PA12 – ensuring high strength and an ultra-lightweight structure.

The Outcome

• Perfect fit with no pressure points or blisters
• Substantially lighter than his earlier device
• Improved walking posture and balance
• Swift, confident mobility, even on uneven surfaces

Mr. Prakash is now actively social, walks daily, and reports improved quality of life.
